Electric Vehicles.
Charge Ahead.
Our co-founders were two of the co-leads that helped pass Charge Ahead, helping to accelerate EVs. It may be hard to believe, but 9 years ago EVs weren’t that common and EV charging was so hard to find that they had apps that EV drivers had to navigate to find ways to charge. Good samaritans were sharing charging in their driveways for people who wouldn’t have enough charge to get home from work. We’ve since accelerated that growth of EVs – and now most parking lots in shopping malls will have a couple of chargers. We did this from the fundamental idea that we would be able to help spur CA and then, that would help move the rest of the country.
While we have built in policies at the very outset to make sure that EVs weren’t only in the hands of the elites, but that those in the streets were also able to get off fossil fuel dependencies – which cost us dearly: both physically and financially. We helped to integrate increased subsidies for families so that they can reduce up to ½ of their transportation costs, while driving cleaner vehicles which help their entire community breathe better.
We have continued the work that brought with Charge Ahead. Eco Equity has worked to secure billions of dollars to continue funding low income families and others to turn in their clunkers and get clean electric vehicles.
